Thank you for this wonderful site and wonderful community. I am a newbie. What got me into detailing was that this past March I got both of my vehicles detailed. It was just the exterior and it was $100 a pop. I was planning on doing it twice a year but then, started to wonder, if I could save some by doing it myself ($400 a year). So, like so many of you, I started on this auto detailing shopping spree. First came the Griot's DA orbital with their clay, quick detailer, polish, wax, a polish pad a a wax pad, DVD and detailer's booklet. Then, Collinite 845 followed. I then really started to voraciously read everything I could find on-line about detailing. It was then that I discovered this site. It was apparent that I was still lacking some must-haves. So my next order included a bag, 9 microfiber towels, 2 microfiber wash mitts, and Griot's multiple-pattern nozzle with a car wash dispenser. I thought that I was complete but then from this site I ordered 2 bottles of Duragloss 501, 6 LC orange pads and 2 LC gray pads. I have since then gotten Meguiar's UC and QD. Thank you for starting me on this journey that I have enjoyed thus far---I just really hope that I don't end up on the TV show "Hoarders!"
I have two questions. I am considering getting one of the Wolfgang twins, the finishing one, and was wondering whether applying the 501 over it would strip it of its fillers and gloss?
I was thinking of going with the Wolfgang, then the 501, and then the Collinite. My other question is about matching Griot's free shipping policy. I was thinking of ordering some things (I know, I know) from the BOGO and Special Deals sections. Would Autogeek match the free shipping or not?
Thanks,
