Ok, so I have had my second session with my GG6. First session was with the handle installed. I felt I could put a bit more pressure to the pad with the handle in certain situations.

Second session was without the handle.

I believe that I have more "feel of the machine" without the handle, and I am better equipped to control pressures on contours when needed.

Your thoughts?

I feel the same way. When I first got my GG6, I too tried the handle in various positions. I prefer it without the handle!

No handle on mine. I have it and can install it anytime but never have.

Thanks Fellas.

I never, ever used the PC side handle. (Even in the 20 years of using it as a sander at my job).

But I do like the GG handle design, and think I may still use it on the larger panels of my full sized truck.

I am impressed with the power of the GG. :)

I do not use it. I feel like I can control pressure better without it. It is still on the machine, however.....I hang it up by the handle

I like the handle but usually leave it off since it can reach more places without the handle on.

Only thing have a handle on is my DeWalt 849x...all DA's are have handles removed.

No handle. Feel I have more direct control of the polisher without.

The 1st thing you do with the handle on any DA (at least me) is throw that handle in the garbage. It works better that way.

the PC comes with the stick handle (uneven pressure since it can only be used on one side) so that isn't much help so i can see tossing that. on the other hand, the GG6 comes with a D-handle (wouldn't toss). if i have mine attached and am not using it, i just lean it all the way back and it kinda comes in handy so you can hold/grab it easier. sometimes though it does have to come off if you want to get into tighter spots...

I understand your stance, but I would never throw any part of a system I received in the trash.

Agreed

Agreed

I sell that stuff on ebay.

I saw on YouTube, a guy who installed a Griot's handle on his Porter Cable 7424xp....

Someone will buy it.

Handle is attached but I don't use it as a handle. It's there so that when I put the unit down, I just flip it over and it kee[ps the unit from tipping onto its side. It also makes a nice hanger. but, when I'm actually using it, my hands are on the body of the unit and not on the handle.
