Griots, Flex, Rupes DA clone

If they were priced a lot cheaper. Then I'd get one and maybe let my cousin borrow it. But for that price I'm happy to just get the original. Which I have and I am very happy with it.

thanks for the head up. unfortunately, i would never buy anything from gloss-it, they have some ethical issues with some credible detailers in the past. besides that, they are over-priced on just about everything they sell. no thanks...

You'll get no disagreement from me on your points. In fact I plan on calling them out as liars on their YouTube page.

^ the price doesn't look so bad.

I wonder what sanding grit it can remove? i.e. PC 3000, Rupes 1500, I believe a rotary can do 1000?

On their website they say:

Constant cruise power technology
(operates under load)

Does that mean "forced rotation?" So is this a Flex clone?

If this is the machine I think it is they have been selling it in Australia under the name "Rockwell". It's just another PC clone.

the new HD DA is pretty nice as well (lots of torque). should be available soon. imagine the rupes and HF DA having a baby, that's what it would look like. for anyone looking for a traditional style DA, this would be tops...

Will they be selling this one at Harbor Freight as well?

doubt it. the front /top part of the polisher/cover is just like the rupes with the rest of the body looking close to the HF DA (a little more torque than the HF DA as well). the on/off switch is on the top of the tail end of the polisher and the speed switch is toward the end of the body on the left side. though i don't need one, i will most likely buy one... my guess is it will retail for $119.99 or so...

Is this a large throw machine?

Where may one see or read about it? I'm not interested in buying it...just curious.

Edit.... Is it this?

no, it's not a large throw machine and that's not even close to what it looks like. should be available soon (i hope)...

I would think AG could sell these if they wanted to. Hint hint.

MaxShine has two units that have similar styling to the Rupes--one has an 8mm throw (standard DA) and the other has a 21mm throw--interesting feature is they both use standard DA backing plates so it would be inexpensive to switch from 6" to 5" etc.

Wonder which will be the new HD DA??
