Griots Garage Air Pulse Cleaning gun Requires 8.97 cfm @ 90 psi flow rate...lol

I think it may just be a more realistic number for continuous operation, where the Tornadors seems to be a bare minimum.

I have the Black and never use it. My compressor is rated right around their "required" cfm but if you try to use it continuously, the compressor almost runs non stop with very little rest time.

Here's some info Jeff sent me to share with you....

From Jeff Brown - New Product Development - Griot's Garage said:
8.97CFM @ 90psi is for the maximum performance. A compressor can supply at least 4 CFM @ 90 psi will offer enough air flow for the efficient pulse cleaning action.

So a general 120V 2 horsepower air compressor will be fine to use with it.

Personal experience (Jeff Brown)

The Air Pulse Gun sustains respectable cleaning power for 30-40 seconds until the compressor line psi drops below 50.

It takes approximately 20-30 seconds for an air compressor to fully recharge a tank after the drain with tool off. Remember, like a lot of air tools you don't run them full out, you use them in spurts.

Here's a compressor from Griot's that will operate this tool.

I hope this helps those interested in Griot's air tools.

I have the Black and I use it with a Pancake dewalt compressor.

It works for DD DIY stuff but not for production detailing.

It will only work well for few minutes, but I have time.

I use it mostly under the hood and tough to get at interior panels.

Wish the prices on the rotary screw compressors would start to come down. They all have crazy high CFM and do not require the giant 60-80 gallon tank to achieve that CFM. The one that I saw in my friend's mechanic shop is very quiet compared to a regular compressor.
