LINK REMOVED TO COMPETITORS SITE

Hey guys...Ive been lurking on the forums for a few days now and I'm close to placing an order with AG...I'm just trying to dial in the right products. I've decided to go with the griots polisher and I really want to purchase it from AG but will they match this price? It's not a deal breaker if they won't but it is a $40 difference which is worth thinking about.

Input is appreciated!

The polisher is 'out of stock/ currently not available' on that website link you posted; not sure if that will make a difference or not with AG price matching...

Autogeek says they don't price match stores like BJ's. Doesn't hurt to ask though.

Yes I noticed that it sold out later in the day....I'll have to call and ask seeing as though on the BJ's website you don't have to be a member which should negate the "club" policy that AG has with their price matching.

Bump*

Let's say I order the gg 6" rop from autogeek....would they handle the lifetime warranty? Or should I simply order direct from gg.

My friend bought the 6" polish wax package deal for like 150.00 from BJs (53.00 off what AG was going to charge him)

All he had to do to find it was use Google Shopping & sort low to high price.

Order from AG they WILL stand behind it!

Honestly for all the good things I hear about AG I will be ordering from them....hopefully they will price match but if not oh well :)

I also noticed the GG 3" ROP is 67.99 with free shipping. It IS in stock.

If you want GG to fix/warranty your polisher, but through them. They didn't used to care where you bought it before, but starting about 6 months ago, they now ask where you bought it from and to go through whomever you bought it from. I'm not sure how retailers handle warranty issues, but it makes sense to save some time and deal directly with GG.

BJ's is having another sale on most there Griots Garage product right now, same sale as last time.

The 6" is 89.99 and the 3" is 67.99. I don't know about you but I'm frugal and it makes sense to me to buy where I can get the best price.

I purchased a new GG 6" polisher 2 months ago for less than this from a local retailer. I don't know where you got your information but I had a problem with mine right away and GG replaced it with no problem. Griot's Garage has great customer service.

Purchased it from BJ's. Yes CS is great here on AG but with that big of a price difference. Plus the charge for being non-member on was 5% but free shipping.

You did good. You can't beat GG's customer service and a lifetime warranty they stand behind all at a reasonable price!

I'm thinking of getting the 3" version myself... Just debating whether or not it really is needed or not. I might just get a 3" or 3.5" backing plate instead.

As for Griot's customer service, it is quite good. But what's the point if the machine is poorly built? The griots does have the most power, and that's why I bought one, but they have the highest rate of failure amongst the current DA's. Meguiars had a cord problem but that's been fixed.

Now, Griot's even refuses to fix any more polishers if they find out it's been used "professionally" meaning they don't like it if you use it everyday as part of your business and it keeps failing.

I emailed Kyle at Griot's, and he basically said the tool is only for the weekend warrior or hobbyist. Judging by some more research, it seems the Griot's is just a recolored or rebadged Chinese made DAS-6 polisher that you can buy off of many export sites. No wonder it does have a somewhat high failure rate.

I've just gotten my own GG6 and I'm already dreading it dying on me because even though they have a lifetime warranty against defect, it's just a hassle sending it out.

My rambling aside, do you guys feel the 3" version would be a good buy, or to get a 3" backing plate for the 6" polisher?

I tried the 3 inch adapter on my 6 inch gg it kept tossing my pad at anything over speed one unless I put a lot of pressure on the pad. So I picked up a gg3 this week while the price is low. Besides I can justify it if I use the scrubber pad once in the house.
