Griot's Garage - Product Development Team

I think Nick said in the past they had to invest in the manufacturing capability for their current ceramic products to be able to do them in-house. Not sure what it takes from a manufacturing perspective to develop a coating in-house.
 
Went back and found some of their comments with regards to a ceramic coating:

They did mention potentially more Cerakote-partnered products. At some point in another livestream they mentioned what they saw when they toured Cerakote and the level of investment required.

It seems the majority of coatings come from international based companies, many in Asia. In the U.S. I'm sure there are many I don't know of. Optimum always comes to mind first and they were one of the originals.

A year or two ago, Nick was interviewed on a podcast I follow. This is exactly what he said. At that time they were still set on producing all of their own liquids themselves at their plant in Indiana. To develop a ceramic coating would take a significant investment in the plant and they weren't sure it was something they wanted to do.

EDIT: He also mentioned the R&D to do their own coating would be significant as well.
 
If they do decide to do it....they will rebrand someone else's product and ride on the coattails of the Griot's name...
 
I'm surprised Megs hasn't brought a true coating to the market, being as large as they are with the R&D to do so as well. Meguiar's does everything in-house as well, with a lot of R&D capability.

The did, M788 deep crystal ceramic paint coating. I believe it was at some point suppose to reach our shores but never did.

Make 3 in 1 as easy to use as Beadmaker and without streaking. I would personally travel the country and sell THAT product.
 
That was a bit of a waste of time. Good thing I skimmed through it. Some products do need curing time and the wash they were using contains "special brighteners" aka gloss enhancers that have the potential to mask behavior. Eh wasn't that great of a test.
 
I'm really not liking their live shows anymore....they spin their wheels and stammer with the talking.
They make good products...they do not know how too promote it in a live setting...
The purpose of the second live show was to answer all the missed questions
What did they answer like 10 to 12 in an hour!....the rest is babble and stammering.
they are horrible at ANSWERING questions....you know how to answer a question?


ANSWER IT!!!....move on
 
I appreciate them doing these videos, but they're too long and not direct enough. I like that Griot's is an American brand and produces their products in-house. They need to decide whether they want to step up to the next level and make the investment commitment to offer a full coating line. Or, they can remain as is on par with Megs/TW which also don't offer one.

I appreciate the fact they do it and I love Griots products

These are not the 2 guys to do it....LOL

I hear what your saying but do you REALLY think Griot's Garage is on par with Turtle Wax and Mequiar's IMO Griot's Garage is far superior to TW or Meg's because they don't throw something at the wall to see if it sticks like Meg's does and have been consistently relevant since they came on the screen, unlike TW.

I like the fact these guys are holding back on Graphene.....Time is already proving it is a buzzword.

They certainly don't rush to market with anything. It's going to be interesting to see how graphene takes hold of the market during the next 6-12 monthes as I do remember the Teflon days
