Over the last year I have had about 5 of the red & white hand pump sprayers decide to leak through the sprayer pump instead of spray the product out of the adjustable tip. I have contacted both Griot's Garage and AutoGeek about this issue. Griot's Garage told me to contact AutoGeek and I did. I had to prove via a packing slip faxed or scanned to AutoGeek that I did indeed purchase these sprayers through them. What a crock of crap. After my last sprayer took a crap I contacted Griot's Garage and inquired if they had a rash of these sprayers that were defective --- guess what folks, they said yes to my question. So they agreed to send me 4 at no charge of the "NEW" batch.

It is really a headache when you try to apply their product and the sprayer leaks all over your car. Not only does it create a mess, it also wastes the product. At least I know that some of the sprayers were defective. Hopefully the new batch will work better.

Thought I would share that with you.

So let me get this straight, you had to prove to autogeek that you bought the sprayers, and that's a load of crap? Did ag replace them ? Ag has always stood behind their products and warranties. Seems standard that you would have to provide a receipt.

Are you mad at AG or GG?

imo griots should correct the problem they are the source of autogeeks sprayers so they would be the same no? griots should replace them, maybe some pictures sent to them would help? my question to you is what products have you been using in the sprayers? as you should guess those are made to handle griots products which none are really harsh chemical wise like some products, im guessing its an o-ring depending on where it is leaking.

Ive noticed they give up the ghost when used for their own undercarriage spray, but so have others. Ive got a generic sprayer on there now and its holding up well.

If purchased through AG, Ag is supposed to take care of it. I have never had an issue with GG taking care of problems, but, I usually buy direct from them.

What's wrong with proving to Autogeek you bought the products from them? It's just like returning a product to a retail store like Target or Best Buy. They aren't going to take back a product you bought from a competitor. I'm sure AG is more than happy to help you out if it was bought from them. This is standard procedure for a lot of stores.

OK, I first called GG and they said that I would have to go to AG for the replacements. I usually save all of my receipts but could not fine the one that included the sprayers. Finally I located the sprayers and faxed the receipt. I'm not mad at anyone, both companies are great to deal with, however some people may not save receipts, then what do you do. I use the GG spray wax, detailer, and 1 other product along with the undercarriage spray. Each sprayer took a crap on me, I use these products on a regular basis so they don't sit for weeks between uses. I only wish either AG or GG would have said they had a bad batch in the first place. I would have used a different sprayer instead of having these leak all over my cars. That is all, not mad. In fact my car was in the detail fest 2011 in the GG tent -- the 2001 Mustang SVT Cobra, triple black vert. Great people and I still am in contact with Robert from GG. Once again everyone, not mad, just wondered how many others had a bad sprayer. My advice, save your receipts. Thanks for your comments, I thank you for reading the post. See you at Detail Fest 2012. Dave
