Has any one used the upgraded version of Griots garage 3" polisher. I have the older less powerful model that I use frequently but I am less than thrilled with its results. I have the 6" polisher which is my go to unit and I love that one. Just curious if someone out there had both the older and newer model 3" polisher and could give me a comparison before I buy. Thanks a mil in advance off to work; will check back tonight.

It's supposed to have more torque and power with a new 240 watt motor. Check it out on here. Auto Geek I mean.

Was it not always a 240w motor? Went to the site and nothing saying it's a new model and the latest reviews are not good.

I use 3" pads on my GG6, I never understood the need for the GG3

I used to hate it but it has grown on me. Would like to get more use out of it. I guess I'm gonna take the plunge.

A word to the wise:
The new GG3" is NOT more powerful than the previous version (appearance & ergonomic changes)
BUT
If you use these:

Optimum Microfiber Polishing Pad
Optimum Microfiber Cutting Pad, compounding pad, microfiber disc

The GG3" will work/correct a whole lot better ;)

I agree with this 100%, it all I use on my 3" GG and set it to speed 6, works just fine on bumpers and headlights, not to mention tight areas and door surrounds.

Kinda surprised Griot's doesn't sell a MF pad for their 3" machine, heck, even for the 6" just for some added versatility.

I've been very happy with my pair of GG RO's, can't say enough great things about them!

I use mine mostly for motorcycles and tight areas and haver never had a problem polish with it ever. I don't under stand why people say it doesn't have enough power. I only use MF pads with it while polishing.

OK, a lot of great input as usual. I think I will order the new optimum polishing pads as IID suggested and keep the model I have. I'm gonna try this and report back.:buffing:
