Griot's Random Orbital Polisher

With all the interest lately in the new Griot's Random Orbital Polisher I tested it out as well as their red foam wax pad for applying wax , their Paint Sealant and their microfiber polishing cloths for removing wax and I must say all these products are actually very nice and top quality.

I'll try to spend some time with the Griot's product line in the future.

Mike, have you had a chance to try the menzerna stuff yet? If so how do you like it?

Oh yeah...

If you look at the last pictures, I laid the cord out as long as the Autogeek Garage and still had some I had to coil-up at both ends. This to me is actually a nice feature as I've often time taken by polishers apart and wired in my own extension cords.

On the store page for this is you scroll down you'll see this longer cord as the HD Option, here's the pertinent information.

Griot's Garage Random Orbital Polisher - HD Model +$30.00
The HD model has a heavy duty 16 gauge, 25 foot power cord hardwired into the polisher. The longer cord is more convenient than an extension cord and it is gauged to deliver maximum power to the polisher for safe, efficient operation.

Nice add-on
By the time you drive to Lowe's find the right cord, purchase the cord, take your polisher apart, remove the old cord, install the new cord you might save a few bucks but for the time and convenience this is a good add-on for the money.

i love those old little falcons.the finish looks so glossy! id love to have a nice little sleeper and stuff a 347 in one.

I hear alot of nice things about this buffer. Any bogging with pressure ?? Power and torque ??

Not really, As hard as I pushed on it I couldn't stop the pad from rotating. That's holding the pad flat to the surface. When you hold the pad on edge or an a raised body line this will tend to stop the rotation but on the 6.0 speed setting, you would really have to push pretty hard.

Surprisingly powerful.

:)

Ouch!, How did that happen?

you might check for a construction tool dealer in your area to see if they can fix it. Is that an XP of are standard?

Good luck with the repairs.

She broke during polishing...

I sure like the Standard-Length Cord that comes with the new Griot.

How does it compare with what comes with the PC 7424-XP ?

I just ordered one of the package deals with the new Griot's unit with the HD cord option. I've read elsewhere that this new one is far and away better than the original, and might even have an edge on power to other similar units. I can't wait to try it out! Luckily, I found a buyer for my old Griot's unit who is just starting out with polishing. :) Thanks AUTOGEEK for carrying Griot's Garage products. Im the MAN I still think their clay is one of the best out there. :dblthumb2:

Just another endorsement for the 3" mini--it's awesome

:iagree: I already have one of those. It's indispensable for some of the hard to polish areas on my Benz. :xyxthumbs:
