Grout Sponge???

I've always been curious about the grout sponge. I have read up on them each time I come around and I am scared to try them because I am afraid they will scratch. Some say they wont and some say they will. I would think they would as the dirt doesn't always have something to fall into the sponge while it is being dragged across the clear like with a sheepskin mitt.

I would like to see a grout sponge test one a perfectly polished black car to settle the score once and for all. Polish the car, get the car pretty dirty and then wash wth a sponge. Good pictures before and after.

I don't have a black car to do soon, I have a new detail I will use it on it and take some shots, lady called me and wants it detail cost now a factor. Check web site Unlimited Auto Detail - Home

Paint polished, sealed
Car driven in rain, washed with ONR and GS
Picture taken with these results. Remember that these cars have really soft paint.

Lowes OR HD GS = :righton:

i personally like the Lowes better, but you can't go wrong with either of them!

I detailed a ( 02 ) 4dr saturan car light blue, used the Proline professional tile & grout yellow sponge from Lowes. Holds lots of suds, the dirt does get trapped into the pores of the sponge, rinsed in a 2nd bucket and dirt and debris was released from the sponge. Glides on surface very easy, after washing I used the sponge with the soap NXT and squeezed the suds onto the surface and clayed the surface, holds lots of suds came out nice no marring. I also have the other one Lowes carries Tilesolutions it's orange in color and larger, will use it tommorrow on another detail I have schedule and blue van (03), will do another write up on them too. Price for porline is $ 1.87 the Tilesolutions $ 2.24 a piece, get yourself a few.Im the MAN

How does the grout spong work with other car washes? ... I have Pinnacle Body Work Shampoo ...
 
I work at lowes and use them to, check in the flooring dept, they carry a larger on called Tilesouloutions grout sponge, they are larger and cost a little more $ 2.87 a pc.:righton:

i have found out of all the GS's Lowes carries (easy sponge, tile solutions, etc..) the proline tile & grout sponge to be the softest and more pliable...
