Can you apply silo seal on top of Exo?
You can but I would rather use something that would be less invasive of EXO's functionality.

Can you apply silo seal on top of Exo?
Will do. I plan on making a real-life test panel out of the hood of my truck with 22ple, C1, EXO & some Nanolex product.
All of Gtechniq's coating products are different. The order of ascension is like this: C1.5, C2, C1/4/5, EXO.
C1.5 Silo Seal is probably the closest to CarPro's Reload. It offers no scratch resistance but does have the slick feel that C1/4/5 do not have. It is very easily layered and gloss increases with each layer. It is a great spray sealant and can be applied to any exterior surface. Here is a video I made of C1.5: Dream Detail - Gtechniq C1.5 Silo Seal - YouTube
I offer Silo Seal as the included coating with all of my correction services. The customer can then upgrade from there.
C2 Liquid Crystal is developed under permission of Permanon. I'm not sure if Permanon manufactures it or whether Gtechniq just uses some of their patents. It can be applied directly onto a wet surface and can be diluted 1:20 to create a quick detailer. It has slightly more durability and hydrophobicity than C1.5.
C1 Crystal Lacquer is the coating that is most similar to other coatings. Its closest relative is 22ple, though it may add more gloss & durability. It is scratch resistant, designed to last 2 years, and dirt/water repellent. C4 Trim Restorer & C5 Wheel Armor are variations of C1 designed to bond better to their intended substrates. Not as much variation between those three as there is with the 22ple VM1, VR1, & VX1.
EXO Ultra Durable Hybrid Coating is in a class of its own. It is a hybrid between an inorganic and organic coating. The organic part is what adds all of the dirt/water/oil repellency. I have not seen any other coating match its hydrophobicity or dirt repellent, 'self-cleaning' properties. It is not as scratch resistant as C1 in the way of hardness but provides its own type of scratch resistance by cleaning easily. Most swirls are wash induced, therefore having water & dirt leave the surface easier helps reduce the chance of swirls. When layered over C1 it is probably one of the best coating combinations available. EXO can also bond to most any substrate. I bought some new shoes and they are wearing EXO right now. Now my feet won't get we while I wash cars:autowash:
Some C1 + EXO beading shots: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/59828-gtechniq-exo-beading-shots.html
Then you have all the other coatings from Gtechniq that are not for paint: L1, I1, C6, G1, G5
Anyway, that's all I can recite from the top of my head this morning
:xyxthumbs:
Thanks for the explanation.
So Gtechniq C1 is comparable to the Cquartz and Opti-Coat?
Do they sell 22ple on Autogeek. I can't seem to find it.
Also have you used CarPro coatings before?
You can but I would rather use something that would be less invasive of EXO's functionality.
