gtechniq C1 hazing - help please

I used C1 for the first time today on a black car and I guess I didn't buff soon enough and/or used too much product, but it left a hazy, psychedelic looking residue on the hood.
Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Coatings are not as forgiving as sealants or wax. They also are very finicky about temp, humidity, and application gotchas like over applying or not removing extra residue fast enough or using the wrong removal towel.

I think it takes several cars to understand how these coatings behave and even coatings behave different from each other.

Wax and sealants are pretty much dummy proof even if you mess up in their application you can easily fix it.

ugh. I guess I'll polish it out. I plan on putting on Exo after C1 - hope I have better luck with Exo.

Sounds like you let it stay on too long before wiping off excess. Polish it off. Apply C1 and then buff with-in five minutes. Since you are applying EXO check out this thread with an issue of EXO and C1 hazing:

C1 goes on fairly thick. For me a 50ml is what you'll need for a medium sized car or larger. 30ml for smaller cars.
EXO is great stuff but it is not a coating so it lacks thickness that the C1 gives. Make sure to do 2 coats (applied 20 minutes after each other) and unlike C1 a little really does go a long way. Make sure to read the blog, once opened the shelf life is short one week unless refrigerated.

30-50ml for an entire car?!

Here is a picture of how much I used on my Focus ST. Right is a 50ml C1, left is after 2 coats of EXOv2 (pre-production)

On a F350 Super Cab Long Bed I used a full 30ml.

Lol when i FIRST USED c1, I used about 3/4 bottle of the 50ml on my 2013 Tacoma Short Bed.
Then i started seeing shadows and haze ALL OVER, *AFTER* i applied it to my entire truck, i had to polish the entire thing again. Although it didnt take much/long to get rid of the haze.

I was thinking more / thick coat is better. But it is the opposite for C1.

I followed the advice from you guys and was able to get rid of the haze by polishing it out. Luckily I only did the hood but it still took quite some time to get it off. I reapplied and didn't wait so long to buff and it looks much better now.
