[FONT=&quot]Trying to figure out what I did WRONG with gtechniq smart fabric.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]I vacuumed, shampooed test floor mat and let it completely dry over night.
Next day when it was 100% dry, I sprayed smart fabric generously and used MF towel to spread it around.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]After all this, I waited another well over 24 hours and poured little water over it but water soaked right away.
What did I do wrong?
Inside of garage was around 45 ish

Sounds like not enough product. When you're done, the mat should feel a bit damp, then let it dry overnight and it should be good to go.
 
Does the floor mat have fluffier fibers like this....

I had the same question when I originally tried Smart Fabric, and here is what I was told.

If you have mats with fluffier fibers, the water droplets will actually sink down between the fibers. This does not mean they have soaked into the fibers, but they are just between the fibers. If you take your hand and squeegee the water out, it should just come right out since it has not soaked in. If you have mats that are flat, not plush at all, then the water will sit on top of the fibers as there is no space for it to get in between the fibers like it can on plush carpet.


So, if you have a more plush carpeted mat, as long as the water is not soaking the mats and it can be easily blotted or squeegeed out then the coating is likely working as intended.
