Guess the year, win something off Nick's desk!

Okay, just called Mike on the phone and asked him the year of the car and the type of brakes...

Type of car: 1932 Ford Phaeton

Type of brakes: Fake Buick Drum Brakes over true disc brakes.

I asked if Mike knew the exact "brand" of Buick Brake Drum kit on the car and he said he did not.

If you read the "title" of this thread, I only asked someone to guess the year.

Guess the year, win something off Nick's desk!

And after reading the first reply to this thread, it looks like Marc aka Marc08EX was the first to reply and the first to reply with the correct year.

So Mark wins something off Nick's desk. Marc, please contact Nick and I'm sure he will have a empty McDonald's coke cup or candy wrapper for you.

Next, I posted this challenge,

Mike Phillips said:
if someone else can guess what type of front brake drums are on this car you can win a prize too...

And as I read through the thread, it looks like the first person to post Buick brake drums was forum member gardnerr2, see post #18

Buick finned brake drums?

So gardnerr2, you too need to contact Nick and see what he's got on his desk.

Thanks everyone for playing!

Here's Nick's e-mail and phone number. Nick's a pretty busy guy around here so if you call him and don't get him, please leave your phone number, speak clearly and slowly, and I'm sure he'll return your call as soon as he has a free moment.

Also, Eric, aka ekennett just finished polishing the hood. Eric tried out the Flex 3401 optimized and the Rupes Bigfoot 21 optimized and I think he chose and purchased the Flex 3401 before leaving today.

You know, if you read back through the first page, Marc did change his answer. I'm not sure why but he did.

I didn't spell out any exact rules for winning a prize because I hate to have to make everything so formal. That said, kind of goes without saying that a person should really only get to post one guess otherwise a person could just post a range of years. That wouldn't be right but some people just don't think.

Mark did change his answer but he did own up to it and that takes character and I prize character in people as I see too little of it too often on public discussion forums and even on Facebook. It amazes me how people will show thier lack of character in a public forum.

Anways, since Marc owned up to it, I'm going to suggest that Nick has plenty of stuff building up on his desk as he's a busy guy, so the prize goest to,

  • Marc
  • gardnerr2
And the second guy to guess 1932 was cwilliams42906.

So all of you can contact Nick and I'm sure he'll be his normal generous self.

Win/Win

And with this post... this contest is over...
