Hey guys. Quick & to the point, I had a minor accident so some parts of my car were re painted. Now I need to match the older panels with swirl marks to the new stuff so it blends better. Car is a 2001 Audi A6 2.7t in black. Below is a list of products I have, so hopefully I can acheive it with what I already own-

Klasse AIO
Klasse Glaze
Pinnacle liquid Souveran
Meguiars 3 step deep crystal system (cleaner, polish, wax)
Meguiars Scratch X
Turtle Wax compound
Meguiars Show Car Hand Glaze

And a 10" Orbital buffer with many bonnets, and a box of microfiber towels.

So whats the best process to get my older panels swirl & scratch free so they match up?

Thanks All

Also, He said I have to wait a week before waxing or anything. But once that has passed, what on that list is best to do to protect it & keep it looking good?

I'd be more concerned about why there's swirls in your new paintwork instead of matching. Sounds like the shop knows as much about blending as they do buffing. I'd take it back to the shop because they got paid to do things correctly and they clearly didn't.

I think he means the original painted parts have swirls and he wants to polish them out so it looks mint like the new painted part(s).

what type of machine do you have and cutting pads? you might want to invest in some xmt polish or optimum polish with a variety of cutting pads

Thats correct, I meant matching the old panels that have accumulated swirls over the years to the newly painted panels that do not have swirls.. Its not a major difference, but I notice it if I look for it.

And I am looking to utilize something I already have since I have so many products. Would rather not have to buy add'l stuff. Looking for guidance of what on that list would do the job best.

Another question I have, what is the best product on that list to use on the brand new paint?

Klasse AIO and the Klasse Sealant Glaze would be perfectly fine for the new paint. As would the glaze and Liquid Souveran.

The reason you aren't getting much help is because the products and machine you have aren't commonly used by members here. Hopefully someone can chime in and help you out though. I haven't used any of the polishes you have but I'd try Scratch X or the polish step of the 3 step Meg's process. I think Scratch X is made for hand use only... so using the 10" buffer may not be a good idea with that. I wouldn't use the rubbing compound because that'll probably make things worse.

Sorry I'm not too much of a help...

No, that was definitely a help, thanks. As far as commonly used, I know my buffer is 'bootleg' by this forums standards because they all use the PC one. But this forum is the reason I got the Klasse & Pinnacle Souveran...

Will prob just do that. Mostly wanted to see what was safe for new paint...

Try using the paint cleaner first and see if it take's the swirls away. Don't try the TW compund, I used it and it sucks.

rotary polisher? Brand? Norsk?

Your product lineup is all "DA polisher" products, none of them (exept ScratchX) got any swirl removal skills imo, and shall NOT be used with a rotary polisher. if its not much you need to remove, the ScratchX does a decent job, but if its "more" i would go for a DA machine and scratchX/XMT series or step up to the rotary/menzerna comb

And as you got a Black AUDI i guess you should look into the menzerna line(106ff feks) that can help alot on the hard Audi paint with a rotary polisher and medium hard pad to start with..
