Hi guys,

I just polished the majority of the car with Menzerna SIP - Super Intensive Polish (SI 1500) PO 83 with my PC 7424XP with an LC flat orange pad. I was wondering after the polishing do you guys put a LSP on the spots you guys polish or should I just leave it for the next day and finish it off?

Also I have a 3.5" backing plate and was wondering if I need a different counter-weight for the 3.5 backing plate? The counter-weight I have on the PCXP says only use on 5 inch pads.

1. Finnish all polishing and inspect everything before waxing. If the car is sitting outside you should rinseless wash it again.

2. Counterweight that comes with PC is fine for 3.5" pads.

thank you swanicyouth.

This was really my first time using the PCXP extensively. I had done it last year but it was only on the trunk panel. I used Poorboys with Sealant at that time with a white LC flat pad but the next day I checked it the trunk lid was still full of swirls when I had a good look in the sun.

The orange pad with Menz SI 1500 did better and on some panels I switch to the white pad since I didn't think I needed the orange pad. I don't have any good lighting so I'm going to have to see tomorrow when the sun is out.

I just have some more questions about polishing. I really didn't know what I was doing today. Just been reading a lot here about products but not much about technique finally got some practice with the polisher.

How do you guys know when the polish is worked enough and ready to be wiped off?

How do you determine if the pad has enough product so you're not polishing with a dry pad? I don't want to do more damage to the paint by polishing with a dry pad.

Is ONR QD dilution alright to use for priming a dry pad?

Also I have all these towels but don't know which towel would be best to take the polish off. I've basically tried them all but either I'm doing something wrong or maybe I don't know any better but how hard do you have to wipe when you take polish off? From a scale from 1-10 and 10 being the hardest.

I've also read that if the polish is hard to get off I can spray QD on the panel and it will make it easier. Not sure if I remember that correctly.

I have basically all the towels from Microfibertech but the edgeless and the CG blue monster and sasquatch towel. Which would you recommend for polish removal.

It's a lot of questions hopefully someone can help out here. I just want to know if I'm doing this correctly.

Thank you

When it looks clear like Vaseline but still wet.

If you prime pad correctly, you shouldnt need too much product after that, maybe 3-4 pea size is enough, make sure to clean your pad too occasionally.

YES, but you don't need it on light polish like m205 as long as you prime the full face of the pad with polish.
