Hand applying Carnauba waxes more and more

Being new and a hobbyist, I just bought a Pc da a year ago and have been using it

for everything. I missed waxing by hand so I went back to it. I can only say this on

this forum...."It allows me to get intimate with my car".:dblthumb2:

Apply wax by hand is fun indeed. I love using Blackfire Midnight Sun. Smells great and looks just as good.

OOOOPS!! Sorry about that shoeless...
I thought you meant this type of bare-handed application shown below!

I have Never Tried this type of application before. Is there any pros or cons by useing this method.Feed back please

The only con I can think of is quoted from someone else here: "If it's on you, it's in you."

Not saying that one or two applications like this would hurt you, but it's something to consider for those worried about it, or even those with serious skin allergies. Might want to look and see what's inside your wax before doing this.

Of course, I've packed enough wheel bearings by hand that a little bit of wax isn't going to hurt me. LOL!!!!

EDIT:
I worry more about the chemicals I used to clean parts with at work...elbow deep sometimes.
Triclorothane and Triclorethylene...Soon as you pulled your hand out of that stuff your hand would be cold and dry as it evaporated almost instantly. Nasty stuff, for sure. They were great at removing heavy grease and oils...and three layers of skin too...LOL! I'll probably pay for the way we used it some day. Stuff would eat right through rubber gloves after a few hours use.

I've applied some waxes with my bare hands. Usually when for whatever reason, I only have to do a small spot or maybe half a hood, and I just don't want to have to clean an applicator.

Zymol and Nattys are two waxes that seem to work well by hand. Also the Dodo soft waxes. The problem is, for me, it takes longer and it seems to use more wax. Also, wax can get caught up under your fingernails.

Id rather apply paste waxes with an applicator, like the Dodo finger pocket or the P21S applicators. It seems easier to get a more uniform coating.

If tried applying them with a DA but didn't really like it. It's harder to get into intricate areas and avoid cracks, while still getting an even coat.

..... but if you can get some, I really liked Bilt Hamber Finis Wax.

A very nice wax

As for using hands to apply, I tried this quite a few times and whilst it is a great way of feeling the curves and texture of the car I found it difficult to apply a thin and consistent layer or to put it another way 9/10 for sensory experience but 5/10 for application

Applying nuba by hand is fine, especially if you just busted your hump polishing the car out and your arms/shoulders are tired. You can apply thinner using the RO for sure but if you watch how much you put on your applicator by hand, well, its no sweat. Today's nuba's are easier to take off, even when leaving on for some time, especially something like the Griot's wax stick for instance. Looking forward to trying Fuzion next spring!
