im using the WG 3.0 multistep products.. compound, tsr, finishing glaze ..DGPS...

this next ride, im going to dive into the small areas, where polisher doesn't reach.

looking for help pls with hand polishing tight areas ..

use same WG products and follow the 6-8 passes to complete section pass??
for compound or TSR.. use terry cloth for this step and then use MF for the finishing glaze (fine polish step)??

this is what im thinking will yield the best results by hand polishing ..but leaning on the more experienced folks here related to using WG products for paint correction by hand..related to number of passes AND type of cloth to use

OR would you simply use the small 4" pads by hand and just maneuver as best as possible into those areas?

perhaps, cutting up the 4" pads as required to fit into tight spots ??

This thread is perfect for what I was looking for ........... I need help/advice for the same issue - but on the front nose/clip on a C4 Corvette....

Thanks in advance...... Newbee and don't want to mess up my 1-2-3 step correction - thinking hand polish also .....

Threads I've read in the past have highly recommended using Meguiars Ultimate Coumpound. So, that's what I've used when I need to work by hand. Results have been pretty decent. You might want to try it.

For tight spaces, like under the door handles, I've had good luck with Ultimate compound and McKee's Fast Compound on one of those three color foam applicators. Those scratches aren't deep and don't require much elbow grease.

hi mike p. i posted this in the auto detailing 101 section but got low responses..

can you help? you may have already written a post about this ..maybe you can share a link to an older post?::

i would prefer to stay with the WG compound, TSR, finishing glaze products, if its feasible to hand polish..but im thinking due to the diminishing abrasive technology.. i will have very tired hands/ shoulders/ back with the amount of passes i will have to make on a section / pass in those small areas..

my situation is below.. many thanks if you can offer some tips/ suggestions so i can spend my time/ energy wisely ..

I used Essence on a microfiber towel corner to do under my door handles.
I thought it worked really well.

Hi Toolhead,

I merged your two threads into one thread. Normal forum netiquette is to start one thread per topic or it causes confusion.

Sorry for the delay in getting to you, but I've been a tick busy...

Great questions... as others have shared, the way you hand polish the tight areas is real simply. Use either a microfiber applicator pad or even a foam pad and the Uber Compound and then simply hand rub these areas. Put a little passion behind the pad.

The apply some wax or sealant or coat the area.

The key to working tight areas by hand is using products that use great abrasive technology and the Wolfgang line of compounds and polishes uses great abrasive technology.

:)

thanks mike for sharing the guidance.. sorry for the extra work related to the thread merger..

this fill in the final void to my next upcoming black 4runner project.. should be quite a workout ..but the end results will be worth every muscle burn..

thanks again for taking the time.. as well to all the other forum members whom offered advice.. all the advice helps me get my head around hand polishing with the WG system..
