I have a good bit of HF electric tools. I bought them expecting to get a couple of uses out of them but they just keep going. True they are not as high quality as a good brand but I wouldn't call them junk. HF is moving up in the ranks, much like Hyundai, know as disposable junk once. Sears/Craftsman are doing in the exact opposite direction.

You are getting calm lately. The same response in two threads.

:dblthumb2:

Flash was always calm ;)

Today is my birthday. It is a time for celebration not quarrelling

Maybe we should have someone do a review and some testing before we put the product down :)

I bought a PC at Lowes for $19 when they were clearing it out. Doesn't mean it won't work.

I think we should all relax and see how the product performs...

Wow, was Hyundai disposable!

Haven't seen the DA yet. I bought their rotary polisher which looks the same (besides color) as the Makita 9227c & the Hitachi SP18-VAH. Same specs as the Makita but the Hitachi has an 11amp motor not 10.

I went throught the whole October ad. I see:

I cant find anything that resembles a PC or Griot's DA. Am I missing something? Is it hidden someplace ?

Found what everyone is talking about

Doesn't this look similar to the HD / 3D polisher???

It sure looks like a crappy product.

Doesn't look crappy to me. It looks just like another PC that was just introduced from another company. Heck with a 20% off coupon it would bring it down to $48.00 :xyxthumbs:

So I went to HF to check this out. And, yes they had it. The polisher body itself seems to be exactly the same as the HD polisher. Down to the last detail. I took it out of the box. It's heavier than my PC, maybe by about 2lbs. However, unlike the HD polisher, its only rated at 5.7 amps.

However, it seems pretty solid. It also comes with a spare set of brushes and a 6" backing plate that looks about average. The handle is a motorcycle grip type, not a bale handle. Just like the HD polisher, you can run it without the handle and the top is screwed on.

I was all set to buy it, when I thought I really don't need this. I've never needed more power than my PC could give me on speed 6 and my PC has never let my down (I'm still using an original 7424).
For anyone who needs a DA, I can't see this being a bad deal, considering the "brand" name DAs seam to break all the time, new or not. 5.7 amps is right up there with the Meg's, PC, and Shurhold DAs and the construction of the body of this thing seems heavy duty. I guess the one week point could be the motor, but I can't see it being any worse than others, as it probably comes out of the same Chinese factory.
