hard water spots!! just had truck detailed, now this!!

So I had the truck detailed, polished and waxed by a local guy. Truck is black and came out looking sharp. Had to go to Dallas this past week and the sprinklers to the hotel I was at also spray towards the parking lot and now I have hard water spots all over ! An old trick I use to use on my jet skis was half water half white distilled vinegar and it worked wonders for the dirty lake water. If I add some vinegar to my wash will it have the same results or could the distilled white vinegar harm the paint. Looking for a quick fix to the water spots and will be waxing afterwards
 
Vinegar added to your wash bucket will likely be too diluted

I suggest 50/50 mix with distilled water. Both are available at the grocery store

If that does not work, try claying the car

If that does not work, they may have etched and require polishing


There are also products, like CarPro Spotless, that are designed to chemically remove ware spots.

Highly recommend CarPro Spotless. Used it several times on cars in South Florida. Sprinkler water here has lots of minerals, works great.
 
Another vote for CarPro Spotless as one should never leave home without some however Allenk4 has some good points too
 
Going to try the 50/50 distilled water and distilled vinegar because I have immediate access to it but willl definitely order some of the car pro spelled remover.

Yep, vinegar is a way to go. I'd try the mix first. But.... you can even put it on straight (as was told to me by Dr. Bill @ Duragloss).
