120 miles on the car. This is not a reflection...this is actually in the paint. Not really noticeable until you shine light directly at it.

Looks like highway mileage damage. Only 120 miles has me stumped.

It's under the clear. It's not real noticeable unless the light hits at a few different angles. I just finished polishing it and coating it with Angel Polinsh Invincibile and Cosmic. I was carrying a light around the car checking for residue and noticed it.

It just looks like a pearl metallic to me, kind of redish

They didn't put enough color under the clear. I'd take it back and have them repaint.

Might even be evidence of some Mica being
used, in these areas, as a reinforcing material.

i'm with Jomax not enough color put on to thin under right bright light you can see the primer or the plastic.

Thanks everyone. That seems to be it, no base coat in that area. I hate having to get a panel repainted on a brand new vehicle.

is the spots just on the bumper cover? is the spots also on the sheet metal parts of the car

My bumpers look similar under certain angles in light. Probably because the bumpers are a different material, plastic.

My 2010 the doors looked like they were a different color. Obviously there was some kind of difference in the painting process. The heavy metal flake/metallic reflects the light differently. This spot is actually on the fender. I didn't get real good pictures.
I went out and looked again and kind of thought that area just got a light dust of base coat in that spot. 7paintguns told me the same thing so I'm pretty sure that's what this is.
I assume the paint on your car has more of a metal flake than metallic? I don't know if it's a difference in the angle these parts are sprayed at. Really that's the only reason I can see the light being reflected differently.
