Rainx bug and tar remover; has anyone ever used this product? If so whats your thoughts? I was in the local Fred Meyer and noticed that they are clearing out several bottles of this stuff. Regularly $6.50...Clearance $3:00. Any thoughts?? (I love their windshield wipers)!

normally if something goes clearance or ends up at BigLots its likely gone. I dont get involved for two reasons, one it might have sucked, and second, if I like it I wont find it anymore.

Yeah, I've tried it. Still have some in the garage, matter of fact. Works great - you just spray it on, let it sit for a minute or two, and then remove the bugs with a bug sponge or your wash mitt or whatever. Doesn't seem to hurt the wax either. Since it is a kind of gel type product, you have to rinse your mitt off immediately after washing a treated panel, or you will have absolutely no suds on your mitt. Haven't tried it on tar (I use Tarminator on tar) but it works great on bugs.

I use the Poor Boys bug remover which also works great .

Try it and let us know, for 3 bucks it can't hurt the wallet.

LOL, good logic :xyxthumbs:

My local BigLots has Meguiars gold class brushes for very cheap and also they have Meguiars Quik Detailer (16oz) for just $2.00 (they have a ton). They have Mothers all wheel cleaner mist for $3.00.

I just bought Rain X bug and tar remover cause it was on sale. It works great on bugs. It also leaves a wax-like protectant on the paint. I say this beacuse I used it on an RV and the day following the wash it rained and the water beaded right up. Believe me this RV has never been waxed.

Many times finding products like that in Big Lots or Ollie's or similar discount stores is due to a product being discontinued by the manufacturer and they sell the leftover inventory cheap to discounters to take it all. Sometimes the discounter buys overstock items that are still good inventory but was overproduced. Many more times the products were purchased from a retailer going out of business and liquidating or simply closing some stores due to poor sales performance and it's better to sell off the inventory to discounters than to ship it to other stores still open.

Lots of reasons why good products (and bad) end up on the shelves of discounters like Big Lots and Ollie's.

As always...you pays yer money and takes yer chances!

I love me some Big Lots.....you have to sift through the junk to find the true gems....but they are always there.

cobalt...my big lot also had mequiar products. i got a 2 pack plush detailing cloths for 2 bucks and drove around to othr big lots and bought all i could find. also picked up the gold class brushes

I may check BL soon as I could use some new brushes; missed a few crevices in my impala's dash. :(
