Getting everything setup this morning for the party. Finish the large tent in the back when out of nowhere I got stung by two large wasp, one on the nipple and the other on the arm pit.

Let me tell you, plain and simple, getting stung on the nipple SUCKS. These were big wasp to, I've been stung plenty of times before but those two packed a wallop . Might have been mud dobbers? Bastards:mad:

I am very proactive in spraying all eves and undelying areas monthly around the house (including bushes), as these wasps/hornets in Florida are quite aggressive. Be careful as they can make you quite sick in some cases ....

I'm still suprised, I mean I've been stung before and it's kinda like "ow little sh!t", but these two, wow, they really packed a punch. And they seemed quite larger then normal wasp, which is why I thought it would have been a mud dobber but apparently those rarely sting even when aggravated but heard if they do it hurts like hell.

Just be glad we don't have the Giant Japanese Hornets here, now that is a bug you do not want to get stung by.

dude, i was watching the national geographic channel the other night (yeah, i'm a dork) and it had a thing on bugs that sting. those japanese hornets were on there. like 15 of them destroyed a nest of several thousand bees. it was nuts!

Ah so you saw them. They must have replayed it, tell me that wasn't nutz. I watched it over a year ago, I remember they were doing interviews with people who had been stung by them (those that survived since one can kill a man), one had been shot before and said the sting was more painful then being shot.

If I saw a Japanese Giant Hornet I'd run screaming like a girl lol.

Man that is crazy. Anyways, how did the party go? :)
Still going, I'm just chilling in the computer room b/c I'm tired and feel blah (was out late last night), too loud with everyone around lol.

I watched the show on the huge Japanese hornets...I would move it thye were here..lol....

Surfer..you may have to get a padded Bra the next time...sorta like Body Armour...but take a picture wearing it..lol....

I was weed wacking once and hit a yellow jacket nest underground..I got stung about 30 times...they were all over me like a new suit...I grabbed the hose and started to spray myself off..to get them off..and ran..my nieghbor is a nurse..she gave me a shot and some benedryl and made me stay there for awhile to make sure no reactions to the stings...my face looked like the elephant man...and my arse was sore....and back ....now I walk the areas where i am going to weed wack and look for them flying into a hole..and spray them..

Stung on the nipple?! Dude, that sounds extremely painful. Clearly I have discovered an advantage to be old and fat ... I would never run around my yard topless!

We have a hornet here in Kentucky that I am not sure of the specific name
of the species that is 2 inchs long. I steer clear of these things. I see them
sometimes while mowing the yard. There must be a nest near. I had one fly
into a car while I was driving a few years ago. I pulled over and vacated the
car as fast as I could. I cannot imagine the pain one of these could inflict.
I hate getting stung by anything. Not a plesant expereince to say the least.
I bet the nipple was very painful. EEK!

We have them 2 inch hornet here in upstate SC. I got stung on the side of my face last year, I never hurt so bad in my life. I hate them things! I found the nest, put my bunker gear, SCBA on and spray 10 cans of hornet killer. All I did is piss them off. So I got some gas and spray it. That took care of them.

Found the video of the Japanese Giant Hornets vs. honeybees.

Loved that video.... Loved how the native honeybees got the Hornet!!!

We have our share of bees up here in NY, but I have alot of Woodboring Bees in my deck.... Those things are Huge... and while they arent "agressive" per se, they are a nusiance because they hover around their "holes"... They will "buzz the tower" to make sure you know they are there..... (Not like you can miss them)....
The ironic thing about them is... The males dont have a stinger!!! So if not for their size and divebombing, you could do whatever you want..... They just appear "scary"....

I am glad to see I was not the only one thinking this .. :D

Bees are just about my only "phobia"(well, besides Closter phobia). If a nest(or even one of these bastards) is encountered upon, I will mow you over or anything else to get out of dodge. I got stung twice in the middle of back by a huge yellow and black wasp when I was at summer camp when I was a kid:mad:.....I've never been in that much pain since(25 years ago!), and I've had kidney stones! I guess my pain tolerance went way up after the stings:p Ever since, I retreat with no regards to safety or concern to others!! I know.....it's sad:o I will stop(and have been known to) vacate my vehicle in the middle of traffic if one enters the vehicle when driving. I will play with snakes, but bees just make me "quiver". I saw my brother and cousin get "ate up" by a yellowjacket nest one time.....scared the living crap out of me. I was playing football with them and was out for a pass thank god! They couldn't find me for hours:D:D:D:D

50/50 soap and water will kill them quickly as well.......just an fyi. Much less toxic.

I saw a show on just that, they said that this is our ownly real weapon against the Africianized bee .... something with soap clogs their "head" for lack of a better term and they literally die.
