Have any of you heard of these rotaries?

On my local craigslist there are a couple polishers for sale for what I think is a decent price but I haven't heard of them. I know I could google and read reviews but as always I would rather have the opinions of my fellow autogeekonites.

Polishers in question;

7 inch General Machine Company Rotary
1000 to 3000 rpm variable speed
Comes with a rubber backing plate
Looks brand new
$75

7 inch Kawasaki Rotary this may be the model number but not sure 840581
11 amp 120 volt/60 Hz
1000 to 3000 rpm variable speed
This too looks like it hasn't been used
$65

Any info on these would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I can't say that I have but that doesn't mean they won't work for you.

Many times people buy tools and just let them sit. As long as they're inside out of the weather and kept dry they'll last almost indefinitely.

Do a little research online and see if you can determine how old they might be or possibly a review or two.

I actually have the Kawasaki one. It's a big and heavy machine and I personally don't like it at all. It's really heavy, tends to bounce a lot and is hard to control. It's a lot of work to keep it under control and I would suggest you save your money and spend it on a DA or a Flex rotory.

P.S. - I picked up the Kawasaki new for $75 at Pep Boys....I thought I was getting a sweet deal until I tried to use it. It also doesn't give you what rpms are at each setting.

Thanks guys - yeah I just looked at amazon and a new Kawasaki can be had for $50 and I can't even find the other one. I have a 3401 which I love and most of the time it's all I need. When it's not enough I have to borrow my dads Makita which sometimes he needs it the same time I do and i have to go without. I just don't have the funds to drop on a good one right now-maybe after Christmas. I love the Makita but also love my flex and am kinda torn as to what to buy when the time comes.

Thanks for the review on the Kawasaki-i think I will just wait to get what I want and not waste my money on it just because I would like a rotary of my own now.
