have some questions on my progress

ok thank you sir. will do for sure. its looking good. i really didnt think i was going to tell a difference between the sip/orange and sip white, but it looks a lot better. cant wait to see the gloss after nano and the blue pad.

You will see a decent diffeerence because you are cleaning up the marring from the orange pad. then with the 106fa the gloss level will come up, then if you use 85rd the gloss level goes up even more.

ouch, i dont have any 85rd but i think you just talked me into it,haha. use that with a blue pad I am assuming as well?

this is after sip with a white pad. took 8 hours total to this 2nd process. had to go over some areas twice. i wish i knew how to take decent pictures.

got a few questions about the remaining nano step and some choices for my next order:

anything to look for or keep in mind when doing 106fa and blue pad?

after this final polishing step, should i apply the nattys blue, or should i put a sealant or glaze on before?

if i should put a sealant or glaze, which one do you prefer for a black car?

You can do either...if you want a sealant, apply that, or you can go straight to Natty's. I know Asphalt won't top a sealant with a nuba. For a sealant, WG DGPS is a really great product.

Looks like you are doing a great job. Your true test is when you bring it outside in the sun for pictures.

The 106fa is going to take a little longer to break down than your sip. No need for glaze, its really up to you if you want a sealant, wax or both as your lsp. Wolfgang's sealant is very nice.

Correct, but I hardly ever use a sealant, much prefer a nuba.

ok cool. thank you guys. i finished around 9 pm so no sun. and today doesnt look too much better.

i only have one blue pad so i dont want to start with the nano.

i think today i am going to hit the rims with sip and a orange pad. the previous owner used a sos pad to clean the wheels and now that i have a grip on this polish, maybe it will help?

Hi guys,
I know it is a little off topic but I already finished the car and preparing to post some pics soon, but there is something that bother me. When I did the Super Finish with the Blue Pad I went straight to Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant without IPA wipe down the surface and after waiting about 12-14 hours I hit with Fuzion.
Is it really that bad that I did not wipe down with IPA? Does it can hard the result of the DGPS and the Fuzion?

Thanks,
Eliran

You should be fine with your application of the sealant, but you should have waited the 24 hours to apply your wax on the sealant.

Thanks asphalt.
About the Sealant, there is a chance that it wasnt bond to the paint like it should since I apply after 12 hr a coat of Fuzion?
Do you think I should apply another coat of Fuzion?

Thanks asphalt.

Correct, not letting the sealant have the correct amount of time will compromise its bonding to the paint. You could go back over the vehicle with a paint cleaner then you could re-apply your sealant, letting it sit on the paint for atleast 45 minutes before removal. Then wait 24 hours before applying your wax. You could also go back over it with your wax to make sure you have proper protection, plus a little piece of mind.

Hi there guys,
I have decided to reapply the sealant and the wax since I just washed my car from two days of rain and dust and all the car was terribly dirty. I washed the car and notice some dirt that bond to the paint and the paint is not as slick as it was the day after I applied the Sealant.
Should I use 50/50 Isopropyl and water to clean the Fuzion and Sealant or use the Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer?

You could use the 50/50 or the paintwork polish, both will remove whats on the vehicle so you have a clean slate.

Thanks Asphalt.
Do you think I should apply the Fuzion on it own without the sealant so it can bond properly to the paint?
and beside removing the wax and sealant using 50/50 or the paintwork, I have heard that the paintwork using with the DGPS is a good combo since the paintwork will enhance the gloss.
What do you think?

Like I said, either or, how about this, whatever makes you happy do that, not being a smartass just making your decision easier. No, use your sealant like you want but make sure it sits on the paint for atleat 45 minutes , remove, then wait atleast 24 hours to apply tour wax.

ok thanks.
Another thing is I know it is going to rain on friday, so I thought to do tomorrow the 50/50 and apply the sealant and wait 24 hr and on thursday to apply the wax or wait that the rain will stop and apply it afterwards so I wont need to do it again? or it is just fine from thursday to friday to cure?
Thanks you very much and sorry for all these questions since I am really confused and the weather is not really on my side lately.

The only thing you need to worry about is the sealant not being disturb within the 24 hour window, then wax away.

Finished. Is it worth putting another layer of Nattys Blue?
