Dude you should switch to waterless washes. Make sure you only use one towel and make it a terry cloth one. And then be sure to drop it on the asphalt and then keep using it for the rest of the car.
I learned this trick after watching the guy who comes around to my office building every week doing washes for $8. BTW, I am not making up the process above. Saw it on Friday. I stopped my car after I saw that just to watch as I was leaving for lunch. It was like a car accident on the freeway; I had to slow down and watch the carnage.
