Having some trouble with paint correction on this XLR

There's a way to clean foam pads on the fly using a terry cloth towel and a "rolling" technique, I'll try to take a video to show you how.

You have to be careful though so you don't hurt yourself...

Then there's pad washers if you have one...

:)

Mike, I tried your on the fly pad cleaning technique and I couldn't seem to get it to work. Maybe the pad wasn't dirty enough? All it did was heat up my hands and vibrate my shoulders and arms lol.

There will be many more pics to come. I enjoy taking the pics and plan on doing a full concise write up in a separate thread when done

I did my best to show how to do it in the below video...

Video: How to clean your pad on the flyHere's a technique I've been showing for years on how to clean your pad quickly so you can get back to buffing out your car.

The above technique works with any of the below DA Polishers,

Porter Cable DA Polisher
Meguiar's DA Polisher
Griot's Garage DA Polisher
Shurhold DA Polisher
HD Polisher
DAS Polisher

If it works for you after watching the video, please post a comment to the thread for the video in the included link above.

Thank you.

Nice job in there Mike & what a learning curve that is right ! Good work on the Caddilac buddy .

The Megs MF cutting pads were the only DA pad I could reasonably correct the paint on my 05 XLR. The paint is Corvette and hard as hell!

What compound did you use with the MF cutting pad? Can you use M105?
