Hi Mike and All,

I finished a multi step on my 2013 Lexus GS350 Obsedian black. With the swirl finder light I see hairlines so I restart again with the lightest with Griot's BOSS perfecting cream with BOSS yellow perfecting pad. Hairlines still exists. Went a step up to a Griot's orange correcting pad with perfecting cream, hairlines still exists. Finally went with Griot's BOSS MF with fast correcting cream and I got more hairlines. Any suggestions? Please see attached picture. Thanks for the help in advance!!

Hey man, I think the product lies in the fact that your paint is very very soft. What I would suggest is to mist a bit of distilled water onto the perfecting pads and perfecting cream step, maybe slow down your speed and arm speed and really let the product work itself in. If that doesn't work, try taking a seperate container and mixing a bit of distilled water and perfecting cream together. That's what I find I have to do with a lot of soft paint.

I politely disagree and you need a bit more agressive polish and pad combo.or use the mf pad with correction cream making sure pad is primed good and slow arm movements at the highest setting.Feel your pad and make sure there is nothing in it.lexus is a real pain to work with,if that deosnt help may need some sonax products.

Did the hairlines get worse as you stepped up in the corrective power? If so I think your dealing with some drive me crazy Lexus black paint. The distilled water trick works well on very soft paints. Did you start with all new clean pads? I did my wife's Lexus with factory paint it was soft and corrected easy but you have to be careful removing the polish or you can mar the paint back up.

The hairline got worse when I step up the correcting power... came back down to perfecting cream and matching pad took some lines away but some still exist. Driving me crazy

Clean pad and clean towel with each combination

They look like it's coming from your pad.Try perfecting cream on mf pad. Those are scratches that have nothing to do with soft paint.with soft paint you get a hazy dull look and micro scratches.Thats clearly not the case hear.If you owned a rotary those could be leveled real quick.Try that combo with very very slow arm movement on speed 5 and lean into it a little.make sure your da is spinning over that area.

If the above does not help you any I would try the distilled water with a small amount of perfecting diluted in it. Use the black boss pad on speed 3-4 light pressure and finish with SLOW arm speed at speed 2 see how that goes. Use some detail spray when u remove the polish to add some lubrication. Let us know how it goes man sometimes it takes weird things to achieve success

Thank you guys for the reply. Going to try everyone recommended and come back with some results with pictures. At first I thought it's my MF towel but i was wiping in different direction than the hairline. Thanks again guys!!

Make sure you prime the pad well. The new scratches could be from using a pad that wasn't primed well. Also, if you used that product with the correcting pad and its still not working, then you should move on to a more aggressive polish. What you don't want to do is add a lot of pressure because that will very likely instill scratches no matter what product or pad you're using.
