Haynes Detailing Manual

Yeah, that cover picture looks great, looks like how I used to put wax on when I was 17....I think that wax was still stuck in the trim and emblems 21 years later when I junked the car.

That book is very outdated. I would stick to Mike's book.

As mike's book points out, paint has changed a lot in the last twenty years. Anything written pre 1990 is going to be very outdated. Hell, anything written pre 2004 VOC changes is going to be outdated at this point.

Good find. I wonder what could be written about coin-operated carwashes? Or even the three hour pro detail? That's what I need. I couldn't find the date the book was publised though.

:whs:Clearly. I had thought the joke would be obvious.. :awman:

Sorry.... My sense of humor has been eroded from years of sniffing wax. :D

1994 was a later reprint; I've had that same book since the mid-80s. :D

How much you wanna bet that's Kit or Rally they've got slathered all over that fender?

TL

They sell kit at my local o'reillys.

Never heard of rally.

I saw one of those books on a rack a few years ago, but didn't get it. Now that I have Mike's book (signed by Mike, no less), I don't think I need any other one.

Thanks, again Mike!

A stroll down memory lane!

Before all of the online info on car care/maintenance/repair became readily available....I always preferred Chilton's (got a bunch of old ones) over anything Haynes had to offer....whether it was designed for the "professional" or DIY.
