For this mini review I’m going to briefly focus on a few different products I used yesterday to correct a haze on my hood.

After washing and drying my vehicle, the hood failed the baggie test so I clayed it with Pinnacle’s Ultra Poly Clay and ONR mixed up as a clay lube. This was my first time using ONR as clay lube and it didn’t disappoint. Tons on lubricity and ridiculously cost effective: a 32oz bottle is $15.99 or $2 per oz. So $4/ 2oz worth of ONR mixed into 128oz of DI water = $.03 per oz clay lube!

Capturing the haze with my iPhone was challenging, but I was able get this little corner of it:

Since the haze was pretty minor I reached for Pinnacle’s Advanced Finishing Polish, my GG 6, and a black CCS Finishing pad. I choose a black finishing pad over a white polishing pad since I didn’t have any other issues like swirls or scratches. Like Mike Phillips always says – start with the least aggressive process first.

Applied on speed 4 with overlapping cross sectional passes in a 2x2 section at a time until almost dry:

From AG’s product page for AFP:
Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish has been reformulated with the latest surface enhancement technology! Paint care technology is always improving; therefore Pinnacle just keeps getting better. With micro fine diminishing abrasives, Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish burnishes paint to a crystal clear gloss that looks and feels mirror-smooth. This is our most user-friendly, clearest-finishing final polish ever!”
I originally bought AFP to deal with micro marring left over from claying last summer. It really nice stuff to use, has a long work time with almost zero dusting. As for the results, haze be gone!

A new product I recent picked up and tried for the first time is CarPro’s Eraser:

From AG’s product page for Eraser:
“CarPro Eraser is an IPA and more! Eraser is an intense cleaner designed to dissolve oil particles and remove polish residue to prepare the paintwork for Cquartz. Eraser attracts polish residue and dust better and cleans better than an ordinary IPA. Eraser makes it possible for everyone to get the perfect Cquartz finish.”
I’ve never like using homemade IPA for a wipe down, but must say I love using Eraser. Eraser leaves the surface squeaky clean and smells faintly like candy. Time for Souveran:

(Sorry for the blurry photo – didn’t realize it until now)

My daily driver gets WGDGPS but for my garage queen it’s 100% Souveran love all the way. I’ve never experienced a wax as easy to apply and remove as Souveran. This stuff is a treat, a little goes a long way, and it looks amazing on black. After a few quick passes with a MF miracle towel the hood was given a final buff:

Conclusion, as a hobbyist I highly recommend all of the products used in this review. The results are worth the time and effort. I’m also becoming a huge fan of CarPro’s excellent products having used Iron-X (Spray and Gel), Ceriglass w/ their glass polishing pads, Eraser, and Spotless. Like Eraser, Spotless is another no-brainer to pick up on your next order. Awesome stuff! Review on that one coming soon.

Hope you enjoyed this write up!

At least for me, you reached (by far) your hopes: I enjoyed a lot!

I have a small amount of AFP, I could notice it's derived from my loved SF4000 from Menzerna. It may be tweaked some in between 4000 and 4500, in a very gross analogy, it would be called SF4250 in my book lol!

The results you're showing are really great, and the richness of information you shared regarding all products used makes this thread a 'money waster', I mean, time to get even more into CarPro line.

Souveran (I've only used liquid version) is amazing wax.

Thanks for putting all efforts to share this great work you've done.

Best wishes.

Yes. Now that's caressing the shine out of that ultimate driving machine. E92 Jet Black?

Need more pictures : )))

Thank you, Tato! I appreciate your kind words :dblthumb2:

Thanks! E93 - sapphire black metallic. Never thought I'd love a convertible as much as I do this one. The hard top makes a huge difference.

I'll need to take some more "after" photos and post them here.

Thank you! I'm very happy with the results. Here's a photo from the other day - the guy in SLS AMG knew he'd be "safe" next to me... One car guy to another...

Gorgeous angus. Mine's a E92 and also BSM. The reputation of the Jet Black paint back when i ordered mine scared me a way from it.

Thanks! I'm partial to metallic paint and know all about Jet Black's reputation. However given the wealth of friendly knowledge here on AGO I know jet black can be a stunner. If I'm not mistaken, Smack's E90 is Jet Black and he's a wizard with making it shine :xyxthumbs:

Now let's see some pictures of your E92!

Incredible reflection shot! I too really like the CarPro products...

Thanks for the follow up on the pic Angus.

Yes my 07 sedan and wife's 11 wagon are jet black. I love black BMW's.
