Headed out to the Stuart Sandbar with the Starline...

Put a few flags on the boat, one to celebrate the 4th of July weekend, the other to match my truck. Also mounted the swim platform and ladder. I had it off to buff out the gel-coat to remove the oxidation but hadn't re-attached it till today. I'm planning on doing some snorkeling out at the Sandbar and without the ladder it's pretty hard to get back into the boat.

Here's a few pictures...

Flying her colors... an American Flag attached to the original flag pole on the bow...

I"m pretty sure this the swim platform is just like the boat, all original and the wood is in dire need of some Teak Oil. That will be a future project.

Hope it doesn't rain... it's supposed to clear off today, it's been cloudy and rainy for a couple of weeks now...

:)

Enjoy your cruise Mike and the rest of the 4th weekend. The additions to the boat look good.

Cool Mike, where do you find the time to up-keep a boat? Just maintaining the trailer is a job. Salt water and metal just don't like each other. I got so tired of the rust on my galvanized trailer, I had an aluminum trailer built.

Out of the water !

The sandbar was so crowded! The wind started kicking up and one of the locals highly recommended pulling out early to avoid the rush around 4:00pm

Made sense to me.

I took some pictures from the trip Nd I'll add them later. Boat ran great but it's hard to open her up when the waves are so huge! I tried a coupe of times but I was catching to much air!

Parked at the dock sitting pretty!

Time to flush the engine and remove all the salt spray.

:)

Awesome Mike!! Looks like it was a great time :). I hope you have a great rest of the independence weekend.

Adam has invited me down to visit soon. I can't wait to visit with him and as soon as I figure out a weekend I can make it I was planning to text you and see if you'll be free for lunch one day :hungry: I still owe you one! Hopefully it will fall on a weekend that your available for a bit.

We just came up to Flagler beach at noon and are staying the night and day tomorrow. We were at the beach a bit ago and the jellyfish were dense! I made it shoulder deep and then it got way to risky. Back at the pool now.:)

God bless all the men and woman who fought for us all to lead such free, independent, and blessed lives. Happy Independence day to all!

Here's a few pics of the boats at one section of the Sandbar...

The channel where the majority of boats were anchored was so crowded with anchored boats and boats cruising up and down that section was so crowded I didn't want to try to cruise down it but imagine something akin to the parking lot at Target the day after Thanksgiving...

Looks like a great weekend to be on the water....watch out for sharks!!

" I think we better get a bigger boat"!

Great questions...

I'm continually buffing on the boat's gel-coat, the pigments appear to be on the unstable side and it doesn't take much to fade and oxidize. The color comes back easily with even a good cleaner/wax not that I've chopped off most of the major oxidation.

The trailer is an Atlas Trailer and it's the original trailer that was sold with the boat. It was rust free and had shiny paint when I first bought the boat in Southern California, now any steel not painted is rusting. That just goes with coastal living but I sure like the idea of an all aluminum trailer.

It was very crowded yesterday, I can only imagine it's going to be the same or even more crowded today... I think I'll take a pass...

I have some more pics though and I'll try to post them later...
