haven't really posted anything before, so i figured i'd post something that made my car look 10x better and only cost $15 :awesome:

i'm a broke 16 year old (trying to start a detailing business) so i can't have someone doing work for me and i am pretty happy i figured this out :applause: :righton:


so step one is to start by sanding the lens cover w/ some 400 grit sandpaper to get the oxidation off - 5mins/light

then you wet sand the light w/ 1000 grit sandpaper - 10mins/light

*you could use some 3000 grit sandpaper for better results, but i ony had $15 in my wallet when i got everything:o*\

then i kept applying PlastX until they became clear :D


it's been holding up so far, anyone know what a good sealant is to keep the lights clear?:confused:

not a bad ride for a broke 16 yr old :) ...the lenses look a thousand times better...good job...
 
Those are some sexy lights! Sorry, I don't have any experience with plastic sealants. I'm sure Diamondite has something! check it out on the autogeek.net store
 
1. How is it a broke 16 year old has a bmw?

2. I think 3m makes headlight flim that blocks UV from causing the lights to yellow again. Try google.

Why not treat the lens with klasse AO1 and follow with Klasse sealent . They suggest using their products on glass......it may work on the plastic lens.
 
That is a sweet ride for a 16 year old...nice buddy.
