Waiting on a order for some opti-lens, would it be ok if I protected a newly polished headlight with 303 AP?

Can't you just leave it until you get your Opti-Lens? Maybe give it a quick Hyper-Polish buff before you apply?

Well I told the customer I would apply it to their headlights when I get it but while it's on order, should I just use the 303 or just put on a sealant?

I have never used 303, but if your waiting for Opti Lens to arrive, using a sealant wax wouldn't hurt and might save you time when Opti Lens does arrive.

Just do an IPA wipe down before applying opti lens and see if the headlights need additional correction. If they don't no need to polish again and just remove the sealant and apply opti lens.

I respectfully disagree. If you put anything on there now you are just risking an improper bond of the Opti-Lens. I would do nothing and just do a quick buff and prep prior to Opti-Lens. Or if you have Opti-Coat you could put that on now, and layer the Opti-Lens onto it later.

We're only talking a couple of days that the lenses will be exposed, right? I don't think much is going to happen to them.

Yeah a sealant wax might be over kill actually, I would just do a quick spray wax especially since it's just for a few days and then do IPA wipe downs. IPA actually does a nice job on removing LSP's.

Probably having nothing on the lens will be fine too, but idk it would bug me knowing the headlights are there just nakey and exposed to the world lol

I agree with Setec. A decent sealant is going to take some work to remove, especially if it was relatively freshly applied, a simple IPA wipe won't get it done. IPA might remove 303 but why take a chance? There is no need to apply anything if we're only talking a wait of a week or two or three.

Thanks. Yea I made a mistake and didn't order now I'm playing the waiting game we all love. I'll probably not use anything then and call up the person when it comes in.

I agree with not putting anything on. A few days without anything on the lens really isn't going to do any harm.

yeah leave it alone with no worries. then give it a quick final polish and wipedown when it's time to install the coating.

Can you use use a sealant to protect the headlights? Would Collinite 845 or Autogylm Extra Gloss Protection work just as well as a product for headlights? I don't really want to spend more money for something I'll use probably once.

Sure you can. Maintain it and it will offer good protection.

would a sealant or wax be better for it? I got a whole bunch of waxes I can use on it.

AGREE.

Just leave it alone until Opti-Lens arrives.
