Heads up for Chilly - and attn any mods

Bunky has also gotten locked out of here like Chilly did, I sent him this thread and the one where Chilly got back on so he can try some of the suggestions.

Is he still here? Haven't seen him for years.

So to beat a dead horse and deepen the mystery, I have been trying about once a week to sign in to AG using my normal, everyday browser, Brave, and every time it rejects my username and/or the password stored in my Apple chain, despite the fact I was finally able to get on using Safari and the very same credentials

I tried it again this weekend for the umpteenth time, and voila, I was able to log on

I STILL can't use the stored password to CHANGE my password but at least I don't have to keep 2 browsers running at the same time

I saw Bunky was able to get back in somehow

This whole thing is just wacky

On Autopia my friend still can't get on but I'm not sure if he will try every way

It’s pretty sad that people are having to deal with this

I hope the forums survive. They've been my routine for so long!

Apologies if this was suggested earlier in the thread . . . have you tried deleting all the cookies for this site that are stored on the machine in question? It's maddening but I have a few sites which sometimes just stop working properly unless I flush their cookies - and one of them is the main IBM support portal I need to login to! So it's not out of the realm of possibility that this lightly supported site might have some quirks like that of its own. Again, if you already tried this just ignore me. :)

Absolutely no apologies necessary because it is a very good suggestion

That was one of my first tasks to try to clear this up

The problem actually coincided with moving into my new macBook from a 13 year old macBook, and that is known to create it's own brand of drama

After I cleared cookies/cache/etc I actually downloaded and installed 2 browsers that had never been run on my machines before just to kind of prove that cookies wasn't the issue

I even tried my wife's iPad

It made no difference

I have a machine situation I’m trying to remove the hard drives of two old desktops and a laptop. YouTube hasn’t helped yet I’d like to rid myself of them

I still have all 3 hard drives from my last PC that lost the motherboard

I saved them for my next PC

That was 13 years ago and they are still in a box somewhere

Must not be too important

If I only could remove mine. I do have a sledge hammer though

I can't figure out how to physically remove them. Still searching YouTube for the way it works with mine

Laptops can be tricky due to the compact packaging, and the questionable choices some manufacturers make, but desktops are normally cake. Can you share a bit more about them?

Thankfully I only have the one laptop. All I can say is that it’s an HP

The model must show if the computer is turned on and this one no longer does

I can see about the compact design. This will be a challenge

Is it a solid state drive or a platter drive?

I’m afraid I don’t know what those mean LOL

No worries

It’s just the 2 types of “hard drives”

Platter drives literally have a rotating metallic platter and a moving read/write stylus

Like a phonograph record and a tone arm

Solid state drives are simply “computer chips” with no moving parts

A laptop platter drive is just smaller than a deck of playing cards and thinner

A solid state is like an unfolded matchbook in size

I just want to get rid of the hard drives on these computers and then I can drop them off at Staples for recycling
