Ah... the good old days when trim was either real chrome on steel or stainless steel...

And real chrome bumpers polished to a glisten.

By the way, very cool 327 bimmer. Sure don't make them like that anymore.

A heat gun such as to shrink insulation or blister paint for removal is used to heat faded plastic trim. You are not trying to cook the plastic just kind of open pores from what I understand. I have not been willing to try it but I suggest that you check You Tube for videos.

Well, this was the weekend, but as I ventured out to buy the heat gun, I stumbled across Meg's Ultimate Black Restorer. I figured may as well give it a shot since you guys scared me away from the heat gun and I wasn't springing for C4 unless absolutely necessary. It ended up working very well. Like a dumbass, I didn't take before shots, but I can post some after's tomorrow.
