Heat.....

Had an abnormal day today.... no new problems for my list!!!!!

Had my typical Saturday workout at the dojo. Came home and the kids were at friends houses and I fine the wife napping in the pool. WAHHHH!!!!! She does rest!!!!!

Spent some time with her; even took a small nap myself. Cooked up some sausage and peppers (test for July 4th). Then went to the VW and washed it using XMT Gel Shampoo and conditioner; sealed the new driver-side rear-view mirror assembly with Mother's Step #2. I may put some Liquid Souveran on the car in the morning.

I didn't drive my car all week so I wouldn't have to wash her this weekend :D

I just bought a 12x12 pop up tent to. Does not help with the heat

At least it helps with the surface temp of the paint. I just bought a 12x12 myself and don't care if it cools me, as long as it helps me clean my clients vehicles faster.

We actually had a cool day here today. Only reached around 96.

Started detailing my wife's car around 10:00. Stopped after an application of blacklight around 4:00.

Up at 0530 washed daughters Saturn Ion (college car) and wifes car. Dried both off and waxed with Megs Gold Class Carnauba. Hit the trim with Megs ultimate detailer, and the tires with Armor All Gel. Wheels were wiped down with Megs Ultimate Quik Detailer. about 0900 was pretty much dehydrated and done. Now I am wanting to do my Silverado but it is 103 right now and not anywhere to get in the shade, so it may have to wait a few hours. Summer in Oklahoma, gotta love it.

I don't know how you fellows in the Southern States can handle the extreme heat. I suppose if it's your job, of course, it has to be done. Isn't the paint surface too hot for the product ? I am in Niagara Region and it has been over 90f the last few days. I keep out of the heat as best I can. The car can wait til it cools off. A few more days wont hurt.
I saw a documentary a few years ago dealing with extreme cold and it seems the native Inuit can stand cold a lot better thanwe can. It must be what your used to.

At least you get a dry heat. Come on down to Houston and soak up some of the moisture... Talk about freaking torture.

:iagree:

Well it isnt really a dry heat here in Ok, although it isnt as humid as it usually is, or near as bad as it is for you I suspect. It is humid enough that the humidity factor has been pushing it to 110 or right around. I have been in Vegas many times and always laugh when they say it is dry heat there, yeah so is a pizza oven. I understand what they are saying but when it gets over 100 its just hot anywhere. I am a police officer and am used to being out in the heat wearing that ballistic vest for 20+ years, but it aint fun, and I have no idea how the folks back in the day dealt without a/c. Much tougher than I am. I dont deal with the cold very well myself.
As for the surface temp of the cars, the two I did early before it got super hot, I did my truck late this afternoon under a tree. I saw a story once about Admiral Byrds men stripped to the waste shoveling snow, when it was below zero, they had been acclimated to even colder temps and when it was just a little below zero, it seemed warm to them.

I was in Dallas a few weeks ago. I decided to sneak up to Durant for an hour or two for a little casino fun. I've been in this sticky humidity my entire life, it was nice to get a few hundred miles north for a few days.

And greetings from another public servant! EMS for me

Hey, cool spell only 96 today ! Did the interior of the wifes car, with Lexol leather preservative, pretty good stuff I think.
