Heavy Duty Batteries vs. Generator

Still in debate. My plan is to go with either two 6v golf cart batteries in sync with an inverter or just go with a traditional generator. Weighing in the pros and cons.

I am still waiting on getting a generator because I want one that is very quiet. The golf cart batteries idea would certainly be nice for noise control. I wonder what about deep cycle marine batteries?
