Hello AutoGeek Family,

Back in February of this year, I signed off of Autogeek and began the process of exiting the auto detailing industry. I was on track to finish my Bachelor's degree in Business Management and took a job with a corporation here in Orlando. Long story short, I realized that track wasn't for me and that a 9-5 just wasn't gonna cut it for my lifestyle.

I listed my AMAZING equipment setup for sale (a 7x14 loaded, air conditioned detailing rig), but never really had any solid hits. I've juggled with the idea of leasing the trailer to an existing business, or maybe renting it out to an individual who's looking to expand his or her business but doesn't have the capital to purchase all new equipment. It would kill me to part out the trailer and sell each piece individually, since over a year of time, sweat and effort went into making the rig as incredible as it sits today.

I have decided to pursue my dream and true passion of flying, and I am enrolled in flight school this coming January 2015. With that being said, I believe my best interest is to sell the trailer. As of this morning I have placed the setup back up on eBay, and I am really hoping for a solid hit. The unit is so incredible and people are truly blown away when they see it.

I'm asking for some help here. What advice do you have for me as to where I may be able to market my trailer and have the best return on my investment as far as market advertising (obviously not on Autogeek due to their no sales policy)? I have tried eBay multiple times (and just now lowered the price drastically), but I feel like there are better channels tailored towards detailers alike.

Thanks guys and I really appreciate any information you may be able to offer.

Sincerely,

Brandon Gardner

Posting some pictures here and on the Detailing Forums would be a great start

I live in Titusville and would love to take a peek at what you have for starters. I am in the process of hiring and this is something I may be interested in. You can PM me for emails.

Here are the photos of the trailer. As you can see, this isn't a setup for everybody. This is a fully contained, ready to work, air conditioned trailer that is built to serve cars, trucks, boats, RVs and aircraft of all sizes. With that being said, the trailer is large and that's why I feel like I'm having a hard time selling. It's almost too big and loaded! Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice.

Sweet trailer. I hope you find the perfect buyer.

Best of luck with your flying career.

Now that is something else! Wish you luck with flying. Very exciting path to choose.

Thanks guys! I get questions all the time about parting out certain pieces but I'm trying to avoid it in order to give somebody the complete, turn-key setup. I've come down to what I believe is a very fair price that does factor in depreciation.

Is there anybody out there who has sold a complete setup before and who would like to share his or her experience??

Beautiful looking Trailer and set up! Having it on the Bay and posting pics here is a good way to get exposure I would think. Only other thing I can think of would be craigslist?. Good luck with your new endeavor, and good luck selling the rig.

That is a beautiful setup. I am sure it has served you well, as I can't think of anything else that it needs. Good luck in with the sale, and more importantly good luck with your new career decision.

For anyone that is serious about detailing in a "hot" environment this is the unit that is needed! You got it all in a very well setup stand alone system. There is got to be a buyer out there, they just haven't seen it yet. Maybe advertise it that you will take all the decals off that they do not want left on the unit? What about saying you would even half the costs of transferring over your LLC. Or even go as far as throwing in a customer list on the extreme end of things. Just thoughts but this unit is only for the serious buyer.

Wow, that's a great set-up

It is large though

Parting it out will probably be quicker and yield a higher return. It will require more effort

Good Luck

Did you make this trailer. That is freaking BOSS. Big pimping. I would ask for nothing less than 30k

Thanks, and yes, I (and a great friend/experienced metalworker) did all of the outfitting on this trailer. The trailer itself I designed and had custom built from a company in Georgia, and I spent about a year customizing it with top of the line detailing products.

I was asking $35k, but I have reduced the price to under $30k after it spent some time sitting on the market.

Actually, I designed the graphics on this trailer with the idea in mind that the next owner could peel off my name, logo, phone number and website and insert his own contact info while maintaining the detailing graphics (Mobile Auto Detailing at the top and the list of services). I sold off the customer list to an interested party about 6 months ago.
