So my friend has always wanted a purple car, can you do that for her? What happens here in NJ if you change the color of your car and it doesn't match what it says on your registration anymore?

Last time i did that they gave me a ticket. Had to go to court and tell them it was like that when i bought it.
 
I had a ticket written with the color of my car as purple. It's dark blue metallic. It' my beater. It's the testing ground and example strips for clients. I only wash it when I need something.

It did cross my mind how to get out of that ticket.

If you change the color of your car in NJ you need to have it changed on all your auto documents. I do not know about the title and if you can even have that revised.
 
Hello all, thanks for the warm welcome! We can dip any car to any color! As for the question about the changing of registration and title, the answer is NO. You do not have to change the color that is listed by the DMV for your vehicle because the dip is not permanent. You can peel it off. Same goes for vehicle wraps, you wouldn't have to change the color on the registration just because you wrapped it. Hope this settles some confusion! Thank you all again!
