Hello All,

I'm new to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Chris. Lately I have been really getting into detaling my car. I have always been a fanatic about having a clean car, but now I have some extra time on my hands. I'm a daily driver, but I was looking for some advice about prepping my car for the winter. While washing my car yesterday I noticed some light scratches and swirls on the car. I plan on washing, claying, polishing, and waxing my car prior to the winter. I bought some AIO from Klasse to seal the car before I apply the lsp. My question is; should I use something else before I apply AIO to remove the light scratches and swirls? Any help greatly appreciated. - Chris

If I'm not mistaken AIO will not remove your swirls or scratches. It's more of a chemical polish rather than a abrasive polish. It would be best to use PB's SSR series or Pinnacle's XMT series to remove the imperfections. Do you have a PC?

No I don't, but the scratches are minimal so I'll probably use PB's SSR1 by hand.

Thanks for the advice. So I should apply PB's and then AIO I'm assuming?

Clearkotes Vanilla Moose Glaze is about the best hand polish Ive used. Slow and steady. I would probably then skip AIO and go to the wax. Unless your going to use a synthetic, and then AIO and synthetic will be fine, as AIO will remove any leftover fillers.

Thanks for all the help. It's all a little confusing since I have not done a thurough detail on my car and I'm just getting into it. Any recommendations on the steps I should take? I still need to buy some products.

Wash --- Clay --- Polish --- Protect

now within each step there can be substeps like drying (after claying, and likely quick rewash), paint cleaning (not needed when polishing and claying), jeweling (repolishing with a light polish to gem the surface), and gloss additives (qd'er +).

Thanks that helps alot. So here's what I plan on doing, correct me if I am wrong. After I wash and clay, I plan to use either Clearkotes Vanilla Moose Glaze or PB's pro polish. After that I plan on applying a sealant (AIO or PB's Ex-P), and then top it off with carnuba. Sound good?

way to many steps ... more work than necessary.

Wash --- Clay --- paint clean (AIO or Propolish) OR hand polish (VMG) -- seal (ExP) -- topper (carnauba)

Sounds good, thanks for all the help, greatly appreciated
