I have been lurking around here for a few weeks now and decided to introduce myself.
Have always enjoyed detailing my cars but have never really known what I was doing.
Wash, wax and call it done. Really learned a lot from here and looking forward to continuing to learn how to detail cars correctly.
I know now that just about everything I use to do detailing was wrong.
Every car I have ever owned has been light-colored boring colors really. So most of the time my detailing was acceptable. Since hanging around here I have taken the plunge and bought a DA and a Vapor Steamer. Wow these really made a difference in the appearance of my cars!.
I just came home with a new Genesis in a very dark brown almost black. Beautiful car it is. I went all out and got one with all of the Dealer Installed Swirls Options. Have not had the chance to try my hand at correcting swirls. Either my other cars never had them or I just never saw them. Anyway I will be spending next weekend trying my hand at correcting these.
Glad to have found this forum as without it I don't think I would have known the difference between a swirl and a squirrel .
I'll post some before and after pics. Any tips for for a noob tackling swirls for the first time on a dark colored car?
