Hello, I'm Eric from Roseville, CA. I've been coming to this site and purchasing products from Autogeek for years now. I have learned so much from reading everything all of you have to share so I figure it's time to start posting some of my work. I have been an enthusiast for some time now and I'm really trying to step up my game and hope to start detailing full time within the next year. I will be attending the Boot Camp next month and am excited to meet some of you there and pick up some good techniques.

I completed a detail this weekend on a 2005 Toyota Sequoia. It only has about 65K miles and was in pretty good shape for being nearly eight years old. It was unbearably hot here this weekend with temperatures around 108 all days I worked on this so it made it that much more fun.

Products used:

Two bucket wash with Grit Guards
Chemical Guys Citrus Red Wash
Foam gun
Microfiber and wookie wash mitts
OPC Diluted 4:1
Various brushes for wheels, wells and tires
Mothers clay with ONR as clay lube
Meguiar's Ultimate Black
Mother's Back to Black tire shine
303 Aerospace protectant
Flex 3401 with Yellow and blue pads
Meguiar's Ultimate Polish
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

Process:

Exterior

Tires, wheels and wells cleaned with citrus was and OPC using various brushes
Tires and wells treated with Mothers Back to Black tire shine
Foamed and washed car with Chemical Guys Citrus Red wash
Rubber trim, jambs, seals and plastic trim cleaned with OPC and agitated with boars hair brush and stiff bristle brush for hard plastic
Trim protected with Meguiar's Ultimate Black
Paint and glass clayed with Mothers clay and ONR as lube
Washed car again proceeding to polish paint with Flex 3401, yellow pads and Megs Ulitmate Polish
One more wash with Citrus Red followed by Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant
Buffed paint with microfiber bonnets with the Flex
RainX treatment to windows

Interior
Leather and all interior surfaces were cleaned with OPC then treated with 303
Invisible glass on the windows with multiple waffle weaves
Finished off by vacuuming

Pictures will follow in next post...

Sorry for the lack of better before and afters of the paint but I was in a hurry and forgot to get better pictures.. any advice would be appreciated. Only problem I ran into was the Megs Ultimate Black ran like crazy when it got wet and I had to reapply it. I warned the customer it might happen again and if so I will fix it with another product.

Looked up your posting history saw that you're in Roseville, California

I buffed out a 1963 M Code Thunderbird in Roseville for a famous Bowler, can't remember his name. Like this one...

It was in August of around 1998 or so and about 106 degrees... the wires in my Makita Rotary Buffer were melting the buffer was so hot...

Good times...

:)
