Howdy from Stuart, FL! My baby, Screamin' Yellow (1994 Mazda Miata), just got back from a two week stay at the paint shop getting completely redone. Now that she's all shiny and new again, I'm definitely going to need some tips and tricks to keep her looking her best.

What an awesome ride. The 1st thing is I would wait for about 2 to 3 weeks and let the paint breath. You have had it painted less than 1 month. IMO the paint needs to fully cure and that will be another 2 to 3 weeks. Then you can have at it!!

I had a 1990 White Miata and that was a hoot to drive!! Beautiful ride you have there!!

You will learn alot from this site on how to maintain your baby!!

Thanks! We originally bought the Miata for my husband but then he made the mistake of teaching me to drive stick and I stole his car. I made up for it by letting him get a '74 MG Midget though, so we're even.

LMAO!! No offense on the British cars....but I had a 1980 Triumph TR8 and it was a piece of doo doo!! I learned how to become a mechanic because it broke down all the time!!

I knew the car had Lucas Electronic parts...I had a nice term for them, Lucas Electronics, the Prince of Darkness!!

Henceforth, the Miata...which was based on the British Sports car philosophy but with Japanese reliability. The Miata is one of the main reasons why the British Sports car is dead in the US.

BTW, driving manual transmission is a lot of fun and the only way to go IMO for a Sports car or GT.

But when my TR8 Ran it was a riot....

Do you know why Englishman drink warm beer? It's because they have Lucas refrigerators!

Welcome, as close as you are to AG HQ you should take it by and see if Mike P has a few minutes to give you some pointers.

Yeah, my husband is a glutton for punishment...he had an Austin-Healey and another Midget when he was younger but apparently, pushing them around wasn't enough to cure him of the British sports car fever. It's a 3rd car that shares the driveway with the Miata and doesn't really "have" to go anywhere. It's totally impractical for a lot of reasons, but it makes him smile so it's worth it. :)

And yes, when we got the Miata I was nervous about learning to drive manual, but now I can't imagine it any other way. An automatic Miata would just be boring.
