Hi, my name is Mark, one of my hobbies is Auto detailing :pc7424: that's why I have joined here.
Though I know something about top quality car care brands & products (not by the cool&sexy names on the labels but by the technology & ingredients inside) it's interesting to see what other people like to do with it.
I am willing to teach, listen & learn. In Car valeting :autowash: knowledge & experience is a lot.

:welcome: N.Y. Plates on that Lexus?
Yes, the guy brought that Lexus LS 460 in 2011 as new from New York Lexus dealership to Israel, I think the reason was that this model was not available here. Usually you need to change the number plate after 6 months but he never did it and we are almost in 2014.

Welcome!

Love that Cadillac!

Is that the original single stage paint? Does it still look like the pictures?

Very cool... I'd love to restore the paint on the Caddy....

Thanks!
Yep, this is original single stage paint from 1956. The guy brought it in 1990's from USA in a superb mint condition but for the last 10Y the car was standing outside in his parking. In the sun & rain for 10Y without any care. He wanted this car so his son can bring the bride to a wedding, 1 day event. The engine works great same as most chrome parts were in easy to restore condition. The roof was new painted with original paint, this is 2 tone model. It's expensive to paint a whole car, only roof was almost 3,000$.
I used polishing machine & lambswool bonnet at speed over 1200rpm., product I used is nano Berner Medium Polish (contains carnauba wax) for paint & Autosol metal polish for chrome. The paint was full of rust, not much I could do with polishing it, the car needs new paint.
Mike, what you recommend to restore single stage paints, or maybe there is a link about it on Autogeek?
