Hi I am Alex, a newby to detailing. I just recently got a Porter Cable DA polisher kit and read The Complete Guide To A Show Room Shine. Awesome book!!! I took my recently acquired knowledge and new toys and spent the better part of the Holliday weekend in my garage detailing the paint on my 2004 Tahoe (I am original owner). Mildly neglected paint. I used pinnacle products, Clayed, Advanced Swirl Remover, Advanced Finishing Polish, Souveran wax. A lot of hard work getting through the learning curve. Worth every minute! I got some amazing results!! I'm hooked, looking forward to working on my newer cars!!!

Welcome Sir, do some research on using C845 as a LSP you wont be sorry.

Thanks guys!

I will try the C845, it sounds like a great long lasting wax. Good choice to protect paint through the winter.

Hi I am Alex, a newby to detailing.

Welcome to AutogeekOnline! :welcome:

I just recently got a Porter Cable DA polisher kit and read The Complete Guide To A Show Room Shine.

Awesome book!!!

Thank you!

I put a lot of years into learning the art of polishing paint and I put a lot of time into carefully writing that book and I whole heartedly think that anyone that reads it from cover to cover will know more than most detailers. Learning a craft starts with head knowledge, that is knowing a little bit about what I call the 3 P's

  • Paint
  • Products
  • Procedures
Then back it up with hands-on experience by taking what you learn in the book out to the garage.

Welcome aboard...

Thank you for the book!

The Complete Guide To A Show Car Shine a great book and a lifetime resource. If you don't already have this book you should get it. I have the iPad version which includes many pictures and even more valuable videos! The videos are great for showing technique, arm speed, and so forth. Awesome book and great resource!!!

Welcome Alex! Sounds like the perfect weekend to me.
