Hi everyone. My name's Len and although I became an AGO member awhile ago, I never spent much time here until now. Lately though I find myself coming here to go through reviews or read one of Mike Phillips' articles, so I figured I might as well introduce myself and try to become a part of the forum.

I've always been a gearhead and also take care of my own vehicles, but it wasn't until I got my G8 a couple years ago that I got serious into detailing. Looking back on my wash technique from before then would make most detailers cringe, but I guess we all had to start somewhere. Since then, between all the forums, reading, videos, and practicing I think I've gotten a lot better, but I still look forward to learning and trying new products. I just got Mike's book with my last order and that didn't last two nights before I was done reading it. It was very well written and easy to comprehend. :xyxthumbs:

Anyway, I guess that's enough out of me for now. Time to go browse other threads. :)

We all did start out at a point where it probably wasn't the best way to clean a car. But Mike's book really puts you on the right track for success.
 
Welcome to AGO. A good read is Mike Phillips The Art of Detailing. Very informative.

You'll learn a lot here and the members are friendly and very helpful.

Mikes book is a fantastic source and he touches on just about everything. My son-in-law got bit by the detailing bug as soon as he bought his new jeep. I bought him Mikes book and I'll bet he's read through it a dozen times or more....:props:

You aren't the only one who's first washing techniques would make a detailer cringe.

Ditto on Mike's book, it's a wealth of information.
