Hi everyone. found this forum searching for easy ways to keep black paint up to snuff. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, and replaced my old beater truck with a brand new 2011 dealer left-over Nissan Frontier last fall.

I'm not really a 'detailing guy', but have always kept my rigs clean, tidy, and waxed. That being said, they are used somewhat hard as well, with lots of off road hours etc.

After a long Canadian winter of road salt, snow-brushing, and general nastiness, my truck is swirled.

I've spent countless hours reading threads, as well as watching videos here and decided it was time to get myself a DA polisher. I've ordered the PC7424xp with some Lake Country CCS foam pads (5.5" ). I also ordered an instructional DVD, some Optimum products, clay, and lots of quality MF towels.

I plan to remove my tail-gate and use it as my test canvas, which I hope works out ok!

I don't imagine I'll ever have the time to complete a full detail in one shot, so will probably try and get a panel each week until it is complete. I'm sure I'll have questions along the way, but I'm not sure that with all the info here that there are any questions that haven't been asked already!

Sure hope I don't mess up my lovely truck!!!

Welcome to AGO from sunny Florida. You are going to do just fine. Everyone is here to help!

Thanks guys!

Got my PC 7424 with pads & Optimum products last night. Spent the morning washing and plan to try the tail-gate this PM.
