Hi, New to the forum, came on here to get some advice on how to clean really baked on brake dust. (thanks for the tips, they look new again). I have been deatiling cars as a hobby on and off for years, and my previous cars I never had to worry about the paint becaue they were newer. Sicne times have changed, and so have my cars, the paint needs help on 3 of the 5 I own.


1996 Ford Ranger (green, not really worthy of a detail but what the hell this is my test mule for the DA polisher)
2002 Chevy Monte Carlo SS (white) just purchased and was totally negelected, just a random car wash every now and then.
05 Chrysler Pacifica (silver) wife's car, she beats the piss out of it.

the other two are and 03 Pontiac Grand Am GT (Silver) and a 1991 Chevy Camaro Z28 (white)


Anyway, I'm thinking of moving up to Power tools and I have read how to use the DA Polishers/Buffers and the 10@10 trick etc, etc... what I don't understand is how to REMOVE the product after you get the nice film on the car. Any advice is appreciated.

What are the products your using? Most products now are very easy off after working them.

"I'll be milling around the shop all weekend this weekend, working on compounding/polishing this 79 Corvette and also polishing up a small older school bus. The school bus would be a good project for anyone in the area that wants to get the feel for running polishers."

thanks, I am from the Poconos. About 1.5 hour drive north of Philly. Ass far as product, I don't have anything specific in mind. I do have some Meg's Liquid wax the stuff that you can get at Walmart and other waxes, clay bars and other products. I just never got into the compounds, glazez and polishes but I want to.
