Hello, everyone! Mitch here from the Philippines.

About myself,

I never owned a car, it was a dream but could never really afford one for myself. I recently got married a few months ago, and my mother-in-law let us use their car, so happy!

When I washed it, I noticed that the paint texture isn't as shiny as it looked, so I started researching and luckily found this forum!

Clayed the car January 1st, so shiny to the touch!

Mother-in-law has a car repair business and I was thinking about learning detailing and maybe detail some of the cars! At first, it was just about the car she let us have, I really love it, but after I clayed the car, thought to myself, maybe I could do this to the other cars :idea:! I am still a beginner and I'm reading a lot about detailing and stuff and products, a bit of a problem though as products here are very limited, can only find a few Meguiar's at some stores, I can't even find a DA polisher, nor can afford one at the moment. But for now, I can do claying and then waxing by hand Im the MAN

After some research, it seems like the Griot's Garage 6 is mostly recommended for beginners, however, they're only sold as 110v, will using a step-down transformer have any impact on its performance?

Thanks! Definitely will! Nice guess on the name, it's funny though, because in here, most people always assume that I'm a girl and then are surprised I'm a guy when they see me.

This is the third time I heard of very limited tools and products outside the us,I wonder why this is a promblem for him in the Philippines and the Middle East and Africa is it because they researched these regions and didn't meet some kind of law or not enough profit revenu from the regions.
 
Probably the market is not enough for them to export or for someone to import it in the country. Most car wash shops I've seen use high-pressure water washers and just 1 rag (not wash mitts) to wash the car and use 1 chamois cloth to dry it down. It's only when I discovered autogeek that I realized that, that method is wrong. I wonder who does detailing jobs on those car shows here though.

Meguiars is present in the Philippines but everything costs more than double than what they sell for in the US. Mothers is here too with reasonable prices. I import almost all of my detailing stuff from the US.
 
I wish I knew how to photoshop, because I have an image in my head of MacArthur triumphantly returning to the Philippines carrying a bunch of PC 7424s.
