Just wanted to say, "Hey dudes" to everyone here! I just got a custom paintjob on my motorcycle, and have been browsing this site to get ideas and look at all the products. My painter said that he doesn't recommend I start waxing for at least six months, and that I should only use polish during that time. Any recommendations for brand new paint? He is not the first painter that has told me that the current clear coats don't need wax, but I've always been a carnuba kind of guy!

:welcome: Someone will answer soon. How long ago was it painted?

Paint is only about two weeks old.

I wouldn't wait six months to be honest, 30 days should be enough for the paint/clear to "out gas" and be fully cured (60 days if you want to feel safer). In the mean time you can use a quick detailer frequently to keep the surface clean with a little protection left behind (wont hinder the out gassing process). I would definitely in vest in some very soft and plush micro fiber towels from either autogeek or pakshak.com.
I love the orange you chose looks awesome.

Guess I'll wait about 60 days, then! Thanks for the info. In the meantime, I will use only my trusted Lloyd's Wolfshead Detailer.
I would appreciate your best advice on polish/wax also. I have used Meguiar's products for years, and am a big fan of carnuba - every layer just seems to go on so smooth!
